Hey all! I wanted to tell you all about something Mark and I are very very excited about...The Well Project! It's a worship album that my brother in law Andrew recently came out with...(and yes he was the lead singer of the W's, of which he is greatly ashamed). Mark worked a bit on the album too, and we have both been very involved in the whole process in different aspects, of which I will explain later.
Anyway, its a worship album that is quite rare because unlike the majority of your average worship and praise music out there, this music is actually good! Fancy that. Don't get me wrong, I really enjoy worship! I listen to it often. But some of you may agree that the majority of it either all sounds exactly the same, reminds you far too much of the early 90's, or, lets be honest, it's just not good! But to Mark and I, this CD sounds and feels quite different. One way I know this to be true is because I did the oh so official "Kellie's Non-Christian Test". I thought to myself, "Would I feel embarassed giving this album to someone who isn't a Christian, or even religious person? (not because I am embarrassed of God, but because I am often embarassed of his childrens music...Does that make me a bad person?) :-) And I honestly answered this very logical question with a "No, I would be actually quite excited and proud to give this to someone."
But the most important part is that the entire album was created with the focus of raising money to build wells in Africa. 100% of the proceeds go directly to building the wells. If you check out the wesite, www.songsforwater.com, you can get all the info yourself and find out how to download it or have it shipped to you. Even if you don't like the music, what a fantastic cause!!! Sisters Community Church (of which Mark and I have merged with since we've been here) has a sister church in Uganda, and for now, that country is where most of the proceeds will be invested and given. There are also teams of people that Sisters Community sends over to build the wells and to tell them about Jesus. Mark and I hope to go on this trip in the next year or two.
Please check it out...it's a great investment. Mark and I have been so blessed and encouraged to be a part of this whole process. We have been praying nonstop and have seen some crazy spiritual warfare going on over this whole thing. To me, such strong spiritual opposition only shows that God wants to do something really big and powerful through this ministry. I believe the Lord to be very very eager to help his children in Africa, to meet their needs physically and spiritually, and I desperately want to be a part of that movement. Thanks for reading...sorry it was so long!
